Senior Choir
St Bart’s senior choir is a traditional SATB robed choir. We lead the singing at the main morning service each week, usually including a short anthem, and enjoy singing the more traditional BCP choral evensong at 6.30pm on 1st and 3rd Sundays (except August – which is traditionally choir holidays!).
We are always on the lookout for extra voices so, whether you are a Soprano, Alto, Tenor or Bass, can read music or not, you will be made most welcome. A bit of commitment is expected – but not too much! We all take time off for holidays and know full well that there are many other calls on our time that must occasionally take precedence.
Rehearsals (lasting about an hour) are held in church on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm. Why not come along and have a sing with us and see how much you enjoy it (enter by the chancel door), or have a chat with Peter or any member of the choir for further details.
We are affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music and occasionally are able to participate in some of their courses and Festival Services, joining with singers from many other churches around the Diocese.
The choir is also usually available by request to sing at weddings.
